Space-age design icons: ‘Set-Line’ dining set (6 swivel chairs and an extendable table) by K. Schäfer for Lübke, 1960s

An absolute highlight of design history, in this rare version featuring green nubuck leather. This unique ensemble captivates with its flowing, organic design language and futuristic tulip-base look – perfect for lovers of mid-century and space-age styles!

The set comprises:

  • 1x dining table: The round tabletop can be extended by 47.5 cm in no time at all to form a large oval, creating space for 6 people.
  • 6x swivel chairs: The elegantly shaped plastic seat shells are mounted on swivel bases. What makes this model special is that the chairs can be used either with the full, cosy upholstered shell or, for a minimalist look, with just the seat cushion.

Condition & Details:

  • The entire set is in ready-to-use condition with vintage charm.
  • The chairs are completely in their original condition and have been professionally cleaned. The tulip-shaped legs made of lacquered steel and the white seat shells made of glass-fibre-reinforced plastic are completely intact. The rough leather of the covers has small stains or signs of wear consistent with its age. The plastic base of the upholstered shells is partially torn at the edges, but this does not affect their function, as the shells simply rest on top of the white chairs.
  • On the table, the varnish on the top panel has been repolished. There are a few chips on the lower edge, which have been colour-matched. The pull-out mechanism works perfectly.
