Desk by Sicame, tropical wood, 1960s

Beautifully shaped desk from Belgian manufacture. A special highlight is the glossy lacquered tropical wood veneer, probably Angelim Vermelho, which offers a great play of colours due to its iridescent character (uneven on the doors). The back of the desk is also made of it, so that the desk can stand freely in the room. It has been completely sanded and given a glossy lacquer finish. On request, the glass top can be supplied, which fits exactly but was probably added later. It has a few scratches and a chip on one corner.
